Marian Lupu’s withdrawal from the electoral race favors Igor Dodon in the presidential elections, leader of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” (PPDA) Andrei Nastase said in the program “Interpol” on TV 7 channel, IPN reports.
“For Igor Dodon, it will be easier to win with Lupu’s eventual 5-6% of the poll. I possess information that those from the PDM go to districts and tell the mayors to make everything possible for the people there to vote for Dodon. We now have to struggle with Dodon, who is supported by Plahotniuc. All the resources intended for Lupu are now channeled to Dodon. I see no delimitation line between this regime and Igor Dodon,” stated Nastase.
The leader of the PPDA also said that Marian Lupu was withdrawn from the race because those from the Democratic Party realized that he has no chance. ”Polls place Maia Sandu at the same level as Igor Dodon. Lupu had less than six percent. Plahotniuc feared to lose the Government,” he stated.
Nastase expressed his fear that the presidential elections will be fixed. “The CEC and the police must make sure that the elections are not rigged. But these institutions are controlled. The Ministry of the Interior is managed by Jizdan, who is Plahotniuc’s man. I heard that those from electoral commissions will have a stamp to spoil the ballots, if need be. There are many methods of fixing the elections,” he said.
In the call-in, Stefan Uratu, ex-deputy head of the Central Election Commission, said that all the preconditions were created for the elections to be rigged. “First of all, they acted like in 2014, when, by removing Usatyi from the race, the votes were directed to Igor Dodon. The electoral registers weren’t modified either,” he stated.
