Andrei Năstase: PDM-PSRM coalition will be against people’s will

A coalition formed by the Democratic Party (PDM) and the Party of Socialists (PSRM) will be against the people’s will. According to him, the people who voted for the Socialists will feel betrayed if such a coalition is formed, the president of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPDA) Andrei Năstase, co-president of the Bloc ACUM, was quoted by IPN as saying in the talk show “Fourth power” on N4 TV channel.

Andrei Năstase said the people in the elections voted for the Socialists because the latter campaigned as representatives of the opposition and as corruption and poverty fighters. “Therefore, the 35% of the voters will feel betrayed,” he stated.

The politician noted the Bloc ACUM will not accepted a majority coalition formed outside Parliament.

The leader of the PPDA said the snap parliamentary elections for the Bloc ACUM are not a priority, but do not mean “the end of the world” either. He noted he cannot say if snap elections will take place or not. “There are many unknowns at present. That’s why I said that my personal decisions, the decisions of the PPDA and of the Bloc ACUM cannot be taken and will never be taken amid uncertainty,” stated the politician.

According to Andrei Năstase, ACUM and the PSRM didn’t hold negotiations because the Socialists firmly refused to discuss publicly and analyze the points that can be approved by both of the side. “They were those who rejected the perspective of de-oligarchizing the country. If someone has to answer questions, these are the Socialists,” he said.

Last week, President Igor Dodon requested the Constitutional Court to say when the deadline after which he can dissolve Parliament and announce snap elections, if a parliamentary majority is nor formed, expires.
