Andrei Nastase: Maia Sandu achieved a very good result

Maia Sandu obtained a very good result, while Igor Dodon won by rigging the elections, leader of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” Andrei Nastase stated in the talk show “In Depth” on PRO TV Chisinau channel, IPN reports.

“Maia Sandu achieved a very good result when at least ten TV channels and at least ten radio stations worked for Dodon, not to mention the print media. When the press picks an electoral favorite this is not the most serious thing. But this should be done transparently, with legal resources. But we have a problem here too. The CEC refused to examine our complaints about the financing Dodon obtained from outside the country. That’s why Maia Sandu’s result for me is that of the winner,” argued Nastase.

He mentioned the organized transportation of voters from Transnistria as a proof of election rigging. “I was in Varnita. The people from the left bank of the Nistru were brought in an organized way. Many of these didn’t even know the names of the candidates. They knew only that they must vote for the first candidate. I heard them talking about remuneration,” said the politician.

Andrei Nastase noted that the elections were also rigged in the northern districts, where the people voted overwhelmingly for Igor Dodon. “Irregularities were also committed in northern Moldova. They profited from the fact that there weren’t PAS observers at many of the polling places. There are enough illegalities for us to dispute the election outcome,” he stated.

Asked if the result would have been different if he had been in Maia Sandu’s place, Andrei Nastase answered: “Polls showed that 63% of the population wanted the President to be a man. I don’t know how it would have been. My withdrawal was political. I assumed a commitment and fulfilled it,” he said.
