The leader of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) Andrei Năstase said that if the bloc “Acum” they formed together with the Party “Action and Solidarity” (PAS) led by Maia Sandu does not obtain a majority of seats after the parliamentary elections, they will form a powerful opposition. The issue was developed in the talk show “In Depth” on Pro TV Chisinau channel, IPN reports.
The politician made such a statement when he was asked if the bloc will form a coalition with the Party of Socialists and the Democratic Party in Parliament given that polls show these parties and the PAS and PPPDA would enter the next legislature. “We will do everything possible for this united bloc that consists of the party I head, the PPPDA, and Maia Sandu’s party PAS to achieve a good result in the next elections so that we beat Plahotniuc and Dodon according to the rules they created and take over. If this does not happen, we will remain in an as powerful opposition as possible that will ardently resist this regime,” stated Andrei Năstase.
According to him, in such a situation the two parties will fail swiftly. “We will not form an alliance with bandits,” noted the politician.
Andrei Năstase also said that the candidates for MP of the bloc “Acum” on party lists and in single-member constituencies will become known in about a month. As to his candidacy, the politician said that if the bloc decides that he must run only on the list for particular reasons, he will comply. “But I would also run in an important single-member constituency so that we achieve success there,” he stated.
