Andrei Nastase: I voted for a city where rights are respected and guaranteed

The candidate of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” for mayor of Chisinau Andrei Nastase said he voted for a city where the rights of the community will be respected and guaranteed as the inhabitants have the right to a better life at home, IPN reports.

After marking his ballot, Andrei Nastase told the journalists that he voted for things in which he believes. He voted for justice, for change and for freeing the municiplaity of Chisinau from captivity. I voted for a city that will be loved and managed appropriately. I voted confidently that the people from the city and its suburbs will take a decisive step in the correct direction,” he noted.

He also said that he voted for things that unite not divide. The candidate called on the inhabitants of Chisinau to go and vote in a large number so as to bring about the change in Chisinau for their future and for the future of their children and for a better life at home. “It is the first such exercise in which I am involved. I’m eager to learn about the people’s reaction to my deeds,” stated Andrei Nastase, who in the current elections is supported by the Party “Action and Solidarity” and the Liberal Democratic Party.

Eleven candidates are contending for the mayoralty of Chisinau. For the elections to be valid, the voter turnout should be of at least one fourth of the voters. The candidate who gains more than half of the votes wins the elections. If no one gathers the necessary number of votes, runoffs are held in two weeks for the two candidates who obtained most of the votes. If the elections are invalidated or nullified, they are rerun in two weeks based on the same voter rolls and with the same candidates.
