The common candidate of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” and the Party “Action and Solidarity” Andrei Nastase aims to hold the mayoralty of Chisinau for nine years. Nastase developed the issue in the program “Politics” on TV8 channel, IPN reports.
“I will campaign to win the mayoralty of Chisinau not for a day or two. I aim to stay at the City Hall for nine years,” stated Andrei Nastase. “If we conquer the City Hall and offer it to the people, if we do good things at the mayoralty for a year, until the ordinary elections, we will give confidence and hope to the people that a well-organized team comes, with a serious program, and why should I go and hold other posts then?” stated Andrei Nastase.
The common candidate of the PPPDA and PAS said he based his electoral program on several directions: teams of functionaries of the City Hall, an audit at all the municipal units in cooperation with the Chisinau Municipal Council and elimination of corrupt functionaries.
PAS leader Maia Sandu said the decision to support Andrei Nastase for the mayoralty was first of all based on the party’s goal – to get rid of the current government and also because the two parties should be united and powerful for the parliamentary elections. “We put all things in a puzzle and this is the optimal solution for this situation that appeared. It is very important to win the mayoralty of Chisinau because this will strengthen people’s confidence in our power and it is very important to be united and to show that we can support each other so that our supporters want to become fully involved,” stated the politician.
As to the parliamentary elections, Maia Sandu said on March 31 the two parties will go to four districts to create the electoral staffs for these constituencies. “Next Monday, we will return to Chisinau to gather our teams and to agree all things, including a campaign plan and how to promote our message on TV channels, and also from door to door, as it is done in a campaign,” she stated.
