The leader of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” Andrei Nastase does not rule out the possibility that he will be one of the candidates for the post of Head of State. He developed the issue in the program “Fourth power” on National 4 TV channel, IPN reports.
“I want to run in the elections and I trust my power. But this is now enough. The people must also want. We will see after April 24,” stated Nastase.
He noted that the idea of choosing a common candidate on behalf of the extraparliamentary parties of the right wasn’t abandoned. “We cannot risk playing politics in a captive state. We must not allow the presidential institution to be taken over by the oligarchs,” said Nastase.
As to the protest planned for April 24, Andrei Nastase said he expects that members and sympathizers of different political parties will take part in this. “The whole society suffers, regardless of the spoken language, religion and geopolitical orientation,” he stated.
Asked how he would vote if a referendum on the union with Romania was held, Nastase said he is a Romanian, but will not give an answer now that only 22% of the population is for the union.
