Electoral competitor Andrei Nastase and his team submitted several complaints, invoking flagrant violations of the legislation that, according to him, were identified at a number of polling places. In a press release, the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” (PPPDA) says that unidentified persons who represented the Party of Socialists compiled and filed applications in the name of persons who allegedly cannot reach the polling places and need to vote by the mobile ballot box, IPN reports.
According to the PPPDA, at polling place No. 290 in Budesti, applications to vote through the mobile ballot box were submitted in the name of five persons, but were written by one and the same person, in breach of the Election Code, which provide that if the voter, for health or other well-founded reasons, cannot reach the polling place, the electoral bureau of the polling place assigns, based on an application written by this, at least two member of the bureau to travel to the place where the voter is with the mobile ballot box and the necessary voting material.
By another application, the candidate of the PPPDA Andrei Nastase requested the Chisinau Police Division to start the procedure specified in Article 52 of the Contravention Code over campaigning in favor of candidate Ion Ceban conducted over the phone number 062190872 on June 3.
The press release also says that at polling places No. 257, 182, 187, 128, 148, 123 and 114 there were identified fewer seals on the mobile ballot boxes than required. In these cases, Andrei Nastase filed complaints based on point 82 of the regulations concerning the activity of electoral bureaus of polling places and on Article 60, paragraph 1 of the Election Code.
