The mayor-elect of Chisinau municipality Andrei Nastase said the process of validating the outcome of the new mayoral elections and his term in office continues to be intentionally delayed so as to postpone his coming to the City Hall.
In a video on Facebook, Andrei Nastase said he is far from Chisinau, but follows attentively what is happening in the city, where the Court of Chisinau was to validate the election results. “The circus continued by submitting an application to replace the judge, which was invented overnight,” he stated.
According to Andrei Nastase, it is a game designed to delay the validation process. In parallel, serious things occur on the Chisinau Municipal Council, where bargains are made on the last 100 meters.
The mayor-elect thanked those who came to the court to show their support and called on the people to be calm. According to him, the government is scared of the people’s will and of his victory in the local elections.
The Centru branch of the Court of Chisinau on June 15 put off the validation of the seat of the elected mayor of Chisinau. In a new hearing on June 18, the secretary of the Chisinau District Electoral Council Vitalie Miron asked to replace the judge for the reason that this pronounced on the essence of the case at the initial stage, which is not right.
The application was accepted and the case is to be redistributed to another judge.
Supporters of the leader of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” Andrei Nastase came again to the building of the court, demanding that the people’s vote should be respected and that the term in office of the mayor-elect should be validated. They later went to the Chisinau City Hall where the Municipal Council was having a meeting and chanted there “We will not give up!”, “Thieves!”, “Down with the Mafia!” and “We represent the people!”.
