The leader of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” Andrei Nastase considers the proposal of the leader of “Our Party” Renato Usatyi to challenge in the Constitutional Court the legality of the elections of November 2014 would be a solution for obtaining early parliamentary elections. He made such a statement in the talk show “Place for dialogue” on Radio Moldova station, IPN reports.
“Usatyi said he has an irrevocable court judgment showing that he didn’t use money from outside the country in the election campaign. Namely for this reason, Usatyi was removed then from the electoral race. I didn’t see this judgment, but if it exists this would be a solution for causing early elections. The Constitutional Court will have to accept Usaty’s challenge,” stated Andrei Nastase.
According to him, the constitutional referendum initiated by the Platform “Dignity and Truth” will take place. “There were collected over 400 signatures, two times more than required by the Constitution. It is the people’s will and Parliament is obliged to accept it,” he stated.
Andrei Volentir, secretary of the Central Election Commission, said the Commission is now receiving the documents. “When we receive all the documents, we will verify their correctness. If everything is accurate, we will send the documents to Parliament, which will have to set the date of the referendum,” he stated.
