“Moldova is closer than ever to a totalitarian regime and in this crucial moment for the destiny of our country, we need to bring back a feeling of unity to the divided people, we need to strengthen society for it to be able to support the presidential institution after we liberate it from captivity”, said politician Andrei Nastase, leader of the Dignity and Truth Platform Party, during a meeting with voters in Soroca, IPN reports.
“I promise you that I will do everything possible to gain the trust of my people and together to get rid of the great evil – the Plahotniuc regime, the embodiment of poverty, corruption, organized crimes, emigration, captured state institutions. We will not admit a repeat of the scenario when one or several oligarchs usurp power in the country”, promised Nastase.
According to him, the future president will have a very important role and must boost the process of “liberating the state captured by a criminal group”. The PPDA leader added that he is ready to take on the responsibility of the highest office in the country and has a team of competent, brave and honest people, capable of governing the country. However, he is also willing to “withdraw in favor of another candidate of the anti-oligarchic forces, if that candidate has larger popular support and has more chances to unite society and free the country”.
The heads of the Dignity and Truth Platform Party, the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) and the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) have announced last week that they will offer the people a chance to choose who will be the joint presidential candidate – Andrei Nastase or Maia Sandu (PAS). The result will be announced by the end of next month and PLDM will support the candidate chosen by voters.
