Andrei Ivantoc’s meeting with his wife was interrupted without any explanation

Yesterday in the afternoon, 27 February, to the political prisoner in Tiraspol, member of Ilascu Group, Andrei Ivantoc was interrupted the 2 hour meeting with his wife without any explanation, according to report of Ziarul de Garda. According to regulation of the jail nr.2 of Tiraspol, Andrei is allowed to have a short 2-hour meeting through the window once in 3 months. Eudochia Ivantoc said that to get the authorities’ accept for this meeting she has to address them a letter in due time, and to get the permission in written form, what she has done. But less than an hour of meeting the door of the room was open and they were told to interrupt the meeting. According to the report, Ivantoc’s wife made an appeal to jail’s management, to OSCE in Tiraspol, but the meeting could not be continued. Eudochia noted for Ziarul de Garda that she was very concerned about Andrei’s situation, as either the package with food did not get to his room or he could announce hunger strike, without knowing anything about him. ECHR has set the illegal character of detention of Andrei Ivantoc and Tudor Petrov-Popa since Jule 2004, but the decision of the European Court was not implemented until today by the government of Russian federation and Moldova. On 2 March, it will celebrated 14 years since the war on Dniestre has broken, when the members of Ilascu Group were arrested, according to Ziarul de Grada.
