The head of the General Multilateral Cooperation Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Andrei Galbur, who was proposed for the post of Moldova’s Ambassador to Russia, has an experience of 17 years in the diplomatic service, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Ministry. Andrei Galbur was employed in the diplomatic service of Moldova on October 31, 1995, in the post of attaché of the General Europe and North America Division, where he dealt with issues concerning the bilateral cooperation with a number of European and North American states. In 2000 – 2004, he had worked as the first secretary of the Moldovan Embassy in Austria and simultaneously held the post of deputy permanent representative to the international organizations in Vienna. Afterward, he was transferred to the Ministry’s central apparatus, to the post of head of the General International Security Division. Following the restructuring of the Ministry, in July 2005 he was named the head of the Multilateral Cooperation Department. In 2007 – 2009, he had served as minister-counselor of the Embassy of Moldova in the United States, while from December 2009 until August 2010 as interim charge d’affaires in Washington. When back to the Ministry, Andrei Galbur was appointed as head of the General Multilateral Cooperation Division and dealt with the matters concerning Moldova’s relations with international organizations, in particular the OSCE, NATO, the Council of Europe, the UN and its specialized institutions. Prime Minister Vlad Filat announced that Andrei Galbur will serve as Moldova’s Ambassador to Russia in a press briefing on October 22. The post has fallen vacant this spring, when Andrei Neguta was recalled after he made statements that were considered as incompatible with the post he held.
