Anatolie Topală: We offer 200,000 lei to young people who come to work in education sector

Minister of Education and Research Anatolie Topală said the state offers support to the young people who choose to work in the education sector. The allowance of 40,000 lei a year provided so far to young specialists during the first three years of work will be offered during two more years and these specialists will also have their rent for homes and bills paid during the first five years. This is provided in a bill to amend the Education Code that was given a first reading by Parliament, IPN reports.

The minister noted that now the university graduates will receive allowances totaling 200,000 lei during five years if they decide to work in the education sector. The young specialists who graduated from technical and vocational educational institutions will receive a total of 160,000 lei in allowances.

“The goal is to encourage the young people to come and work in the education sector. The period during which the annual allowance to young specialists who work in the education sector is paid is extended to five years. Now, the persons who graduate from teacher training universities and agree to work in educational institutions receive by 400,000 lei a month during the first three years of work. We want to extend this period to five years and the allowance will this way total 200,000 lei. We also extend the period during which young specialists from villages and towns benefit from subsidies for paying rent for homes and the heat and electricity bills from three to five years,” Anatolie Topală stated in the program “Public Space” on Radio Moldova.

Also, the dual education system applied in vocational educational institutions will be extended to universities. According to the minister, this system offers the young people increased possibilities of finding a job at home.

“In technical and vocational educational institutions, dual education turned out to be very beneficial to students and to the future employers of students. We this way ensure high-quality apprenticeship and offer bigger employment chances,” said Anatolie Topală.

A dual education system
combines apprenticeships in a company and vocational education at a vocational school in one course. In Moldova, the ratio is usually 30%:70%.
