Traian Basescu will become actively involved in Moldovan politics, executive president of the National Union Party Anatol Salaru said in the talk show “Emphasis on today on TVR Moldova channel, IPN reports.
“Mister Basescu is aware that if he does not become involved now, in 2018 Igor Dodon’s party will win the parliamentary elections,” stated Anatol Salaru.
He noted that Traian Basescu, who was recently elected president of honor of the National Unity Party, will come to Chisinau once in two weeks to take part in the decision-making process of the party and to travel to villages and towns to discuss with people.
Anatol Salaru said that after the ex-President of Romania came to the National Unity Party, things have changed and the number of those who want to join the party has increased. “More mayors have joined us. MPs also wanted to join us, but we cannot assume the decisions that these will take in Parliament and are not responsible for their past,” he stated.
