Anatol Ciubotaru was reinstated in the post of director of the National Clinical Hospital “Timofei Moșneaga” by a decision of the extended Civil, Commercial and Administrative Disputes Board of the Supreme Court of Justice following the examination of the appeal filed by him against the Commission for Exceptional Situations, IPN reports.
The March 28 decision by the Chisinau Appeals Court was quashed. Anatol Ciubotaru was reinstated in the post as of March 24, 2020. The decision is irrevocable.
Anatol Ciubotaru was fired on March 24 after he tested four doctors, who worked with patients with COVID-19 in the intensive care unit, at a private laboratory. Then, Prime Minister Ion Chicu said the decision to make changes in the administration of the National Clinical Hospital was taken with the aim of increasing the institution’s capacities to cope with the epidemiological challenges. Andrei Uncuța was named in the place of Anatol Ciubotaru.
Two weeks after he was sacked, surgeon Anatol Ciubotaru was already working on a program to prevent the infection of doctors of the COVID-19 Diagnosis and Triage Center in Hannover, Germany.
