Freestyle wrestler Anastasia Nikita went to Paris after an Olympic medal, and the obtained result is the one she had been striving for all her sports career. So, her dream has come true. “It's silver, but for me it’s more expensive than gold and any metal in the world,” the athlete said after her performance in the final of the Olympic Games, IPN reports.
In an interview for the press service of the National Olympic and Sports Committee of the Republic of Moldova, Anastasia Nikita said that she had a very difficult year. Practically from February to April, she could not train on the mat., She only did physical training as she had a rib fracture after which, at the beginning of June, she had knee surgery. During all this time, she didn’t lose confidence that she will reach the Olympic Games and return with a medal.
The athlete dedicates this medal to her brother, who brought her on the wrestling mat, but who is no longer alive. She also dedicates it to all those who were involved in her training, to the people with a big heart who prayed for her and who rejoiced at the result she achieved. “It’s not just my medal, it’s the medal of the whole country,” stated Anastasia Nikita.
The coach of the women’s national wrestling team believes that the team had a very good performance at the Paris Olympic Games. “It’s a silver medal with the price of a gold medal and that makes us very proud,” said Andrei Chiperi. The coach noted that the other girls in the squad also have a lot of potential, and their participation in the Olympic Games will be a very good experience for them and will help them at the next Games that will take place in Los Angeles.
