Moldova’s Anastasia Nichita has won the 59kg wrestling gold medal at the Under 23 European Championships, taking place in the Serbian city of Novi Sad.
In her run to the champion title, Nichita scored three victories over Anna Fabian (Serbia), Zelfira Sadraddinova (Russia) and Anhelina Lysak (Ukraine).
In the final fight against Lysak, Nichita prevailed 7-2. In 2017 and 2018, the Moldovan wrestler took the Under 23 silver.
Nichita has so far competed in ten World or European championships in various age groups, leaving with a medal from all of them.
