Liberal MP Ana Gutu, who is a member of the Council for Reforming the Liberal Party, said that even if the party’s leader Mihai Ghimpu does not want to vote for Vlad Filat as Prime Minister, the seven MPs who form part of the Council will name the ministers and will take part in the formation of the new Government. She made the statement in the program “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1, IPN reports.

As regards the vote of confidence to Vlad Filat, Ana Gutu said that they will take a decision after hey hold negotiations with the chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party. But the Council is for a pro-European Government and considers that the demand for a majority faction to designate another candidate for Prime Minster than that put forward by this faction is not correct. 

Ana Gutu and her colleague Anatol Arhire said that nothing special will happen in the April 18 sitting of Parliament, as Mihai Ghimpu asserted. The Liberal leader wants to exclude from the faction five of the MPs removed from the party.

Anatol Arhire believes that Mihai Ghimpu will make many statements on April 18, but will achieve nothing. The MPs said that Ion Hadarca remains a member of the Parliament’s Standing Bureau.

The two Liberals said that their colleagues from the country’s regions are against moving to the opposition and are for the creation of a new pro-European Government. The MPs consider that they will manage to convene the PL’s Extraordinary Congress and to replace the party’s administration.

Seven Liberal MPs, a number of heads of local organizations of the PL, two acting ministers and two deputy ministers signed a statement, demanding reforming the party and substituting Mihai Ghimpu with Dorin Chirtoaca. The Liberal leader said the seven want in fact to vote for Vlad Filat.
