Ana Guțu: Configuration of Parliament can be changed as a result of snap elections

The snap elections should not be a scarecrow for the political parties as democracy costs and when the politicians cannot come to terms, snap polls occur. The configuration of Parliament can be changed as a result of snap elections as the people will definitely penalize those who weren’t responsible and didn’t act according to the electoral program, the first deputy president of the National Unity Party Ana Guțu was quoted by IPN as saying in the talk show “Country” on Vocea Basarabiei TV channel.

“The elections cost, but democracy also costs. When the politicians are immature and do not want to understand that the salaries of budget sector employees, pensions and allowances depend on them, we will witness such situations of instability to which we got used,” stated the politician.

Political pundit Corneliu Ciurea said a surprise could be produced by the June 9 deadline, when Parliament can be dissolved, and a parliamentary majority could be formed. “Things start to be precipitated and the fact that we will be soon visited by a number of foreign officials shows geopolitics start to be precipitated and the foreign factor enters the Republic of Moldova and will begin to influence things,” he noted.

According to the pundit, a representative of the Russian Federation, a representative of the European Union and possibly one of the United States are expected to come to Moldova. “The presence of a Russian representative shows the majority will be formed with the involvement of the Party of Socialists, but we will yet see with what forces this alliance will be formed. Probably the Democrats, but evidently things haven’t been settled and namely these visits will be aimed at bringing the sides closer,” stated the commentator.
