AMN decides campaign strategy at local authorities’ convention

Representatives of local administrations elected on the list of the Moldova Noastra Alliance (AMN) gathered on Saturday in Chisinau to discuss the party’s strategy in the election campaign for the July 29 parliamentary elections, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Let’s get rid of the communist octopus”, the party’s leader Serafim Urecheanu urged the attending heads of districts, mayors and deputy mayors, local councilors and candidates for members of parliament on AMN’s ticket. Urecheanu strongly criticized the Communists Party (PCRM) and said the AMN’s main goal in the upcoming elections was to “remove Voronin’s clan (Vladimir Voronin – the outgoing president of Moldova and the leader of PCRM) from power”. “If we fail in these elections, there is a risk that we may fail as a country”, declared the AMN leader. He has said that AMN’s campaign slogan is “Unite, Moldovans! If we don’t win, the strangers will”. “This was a slogan promoted in the early years of Moldova’s independency. But now our situation is worse on all levels than in early 90s when Moldova obtained independence”, stated Serafim Urecheanu. The AMN’s ticket in the July 29 polls consists of 103 candidates for MP. Of them 28 are women, 25 are under 30 years of age, and 7 are older than 60.
