AMN councilor accuses PSD of using employees of CMC president’s apparatus for electoral activities
Oleg Cernei, councilor of the faction of the Moldova Noastra Alliance (AMN) on the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), accused the Social Democratic Party (PSD) of using employees of the apparatus of the CMC president for electoral activities.
“The offices where these employees work are full of electoral materials of the Social Democratic Party. There is even a person that forms part of the electoral staff of Mr Musuc (Eduard Musuc, the PSD secretary – e.n.),” Oleg Cernei said at Tuesday’s meeting of the City Council, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“I do not want that the civil servants are involved in the election campaign using public money,” Cernei said.
The Social-Democratic councilors on the CMC rejected the accusations, saying that the person from the electoral staff of the PSD resigned from the post held in the City Hall.
Eduard Musuc was discharged from the post of president of the CMC on February 13, 2009. The CMC meetings are now chaired by a president elected from among the councilors. As the Council does not have a stable president, the councilors are considering the possibility of disbanding the president’s apparatus.
By protocol ordinance, the apparatus of the CMC president was transferred under the subordination of the Council’s secretary. At one of the next meetings, the secretary is to present a draft decision regarding the existence and future duties of this body.
