Ammunitions dating from the World War II have been uncovered in Merenesti village, Slobozia district. The trenchers drew out 18 explosive devices, antitank missiles, Info-Prim-Neo's correspondent reports from Transnistria. Vladimir Mikhailenko, the commander of the trenchers’ battalion no.1 from the region, said that the floods of 2008 summer tore the barrage from there. The water washed away a layer of land of several meters deep, and this enabled to uncover the ammunitions. The missiles will be destroyed during the hours of special preparation of the military personnel that will be unfolded in next March . Most ammunitions of the World War II are found in Bender, Parcani and Slobozia in the Transnistrian region.
