The General Amenities and Housing Division of Chisinau calls on the managers of apartment buildings with waste tubes to apply to the program to shut up waste tubes in stairs of apartment buildings. The managers of such buildings are urged to present requests with authentic signatures of dwellers (over 70% of all the dwellers), IPN reports.

The Division annually implements the program to shut up waste tubes in stairs of apartment buildings and sets up waste storage platforms in yards near buildings. The goal is to improve the urban environment by replacing the old and non-hygienic waste tubes in the stairs of apartment buildings with modern selective waste collection platforms.

Based on requests from managers, the plan for setting up the waste collection platform will be approved and the location will be included in the list of addresses of the municipal program. The implementation of the program means application of the regulations on cleaning in the capital city, which was approved by the Chisinau Municipal Council. The removal of the unpleasant smell and rats from stairs of apartment buildings with waste tubes is one of the advantages of the program. By applying to the program, the dwellers confirm their participation in the household waste sorting and recycling process.

In 2020-2022, 152 modular platforms were placed at 112 addresses in Chisinau for 178 apartment buildings, for gathering biodegradable and recyclable municipal waste. Waste tubes were closed in 367 stairs of over 178 apartment buildings.
