Workers of the General Housing and Amenities Division during January 9-13 gathered and took away 1,350 cubic meters of snow, the Division’s head Ion Burdiumov announced in the weekly meeting of officials of Chisinau City Hall’s services, IPN reports.

Ion Burdiumov noted that the Division’s units cleared of snow sidewalks, public transport stations, underground passages, access roads to courtyards, social institutions and waste accumulation platforms.

About 60 machines equipped with salt dispensers and brushes were daily involved in the mechanized snow removal process, while about 420 people were daily engaged in the manual process.

“Given that icicles started to appear, we call on building owners, especially housing stock managers, managers of social buildings to clear the roofs of snow to avoid the formation of icicles,” said Ion Burdiumov.

It was noted that the cars parked on access roads or in block yards prevent the snow removal process. “We reiterate the request addressed to car owners to ensure access for our employees so that they can clear the access ways,” stated the Division’s head.
