New playing equipment will be set up in 50 yards of apartment building in the municipality of Chisinau. The General Public Amenities Division has announced a tender contest for the purpose. Vasile Efros, section head at the Division, has told IPN that the equipment is intended for playgrounds in all the districts of Chisinau.

“Instead of the old equipment dating from the Soviet period, there will be put up new playing complexes that include slides, swings, figurines on spiral arches. Later, the playgrounds will be surrounded with low fences. The 50 playgrounds were chosen according to the requests made by dwellers and the district head’s offices,” stated Vasile Efros.

Bids can be submitted during March 28 – April 7. The winner of the contest will be announced on April 20. The works to lay out the 50 playgrounds will be launched at the start of June and will be completed at end-September.  

A sum of 10 million lei was earmarked in the municipal budget for setting up the new playgrounds.
