Starting with January 1, 2017, the Law on the Entrepreneur’s Patent will not contain provisions on retail trade at stands, stalls, kiosks, pavilions and from vehicles and about trade in national perishable food products. The State Tax Inspectorate of Chisinau municipality said the local tax inspectorates will issue or extend the entrepreneur’s patent for the given kinds of activity for a period that will not exceed December 31, 2016, IPN reports.

According to the legislation, the patent is issued or is extended for a month or for a longer period, at request. Given the legislative amendments, the period of validity must not exceed December 31, 2016.

The application for obtaining a patent or having it extended must be accompanied by documents showing that the state social insurance contribution was paid for the whole period or that the applicant is exempted from paying the contribution as well as documents confirming that the applicant is registered in the mandatory health insurance system.
