Amendments of over $11 million to three U.S. assistance agreements
Prime Minister Vlad Filat signed amendments to three United States-funded assistance agreements – in the fields of economic growth, support to local public authorities, and the strengthening of rule of law institutions in Moldova – with U.S. Ambassador to Moldova William Moser, reports Info-Prim Neo.
According to a communiqué from the Government, the amendments signed increase the American financial assistance for the three projects by other $11 million. Along with the initial amounts of agreements signed last year between the Moldovan and U.S. Governments, the overall U.S. support rises to $40 million.
Ambassador William Moser reiterated that the United States seeks to help Moldova in becoming a democratic and prosperous state.
In 2009-2012, the U.S. Government offered Moldova $300 million through various assistance projects.
