Amendment voted in the Romanian Senate: regulated energy prices for the Republic of Moldova

If the Republic of Moldova cannot cover its electricity needs through its own production, Romanian producers will be obliged to conclude bilateral contracts with suppliers designated by the Moldovan government at a regulated price. This amendment was passed today by the Senate in Bucharest, IPN reports.

The voted legislative initiative regulates the continuation of consumer support and clarifies settlement procedures for energy suppliers.

Among the measures included are the compensation of the price difference from the state budget, the maintenance of tariff caps and measures to ensure the liquidity of the energy market, writes the Romanian news agency Agerpres.

The bill is to be debated and voted on in the Chamber of Deputies, the decision-making body in this case.
