The State University of Moldova (USM) awarded the diploma Doctor Honoris Causa to Poland’s Ambassador to Moldova Bartłomiej Zdaniuk for special merits in education and science, especially for the extended study of the strengthening of the state in the Republic of Moldova, which ended with the defending of the thesis of doctor habilitate in political sciences. Also, Ambassador Bartłomiej Zdaniuk is a good friend of the Republic of Moldova and a promoter of the policy of cooperation with Poland, IPN reports.
In the event, the dean of the Faculty of International Relations, Political and Administrative Studies Alexandru Solcan said that Bartłomiej Zdaniuk, doctor habilitate in political sciences, studied at the Institute of Political Science of the University of Warsaw. After graduation, he started his academic activity at Alma Mater. He also studied at the Paris Institute of Political Studies. In 2003, he defended the thesis of doctor, while in 2016, he obtained the scientific title of doctor habilitate.
The ambassador speaks fluently five foreign languages, including Romanian, and is the author of three scientific monographs and co-author of another monograph. He is the co-editor of another four works and the author of about 30 articles in specialty magazines and over 60 materials presented at international forums. He also dealt with international academic mobility, especially within the Erasmus program, and gave speeches at numerous prestigious universities in Europe.
He has studied the theme of the Republic of Moldova for over 15 years. Of the three published monographs, two center on the Republic of Moldova. The ambassador’s activity also covers different development projects implemented by Poland, which benefited all the citizens of Moldova. These projects focus on rural development, urban revitalization, support for the SMEs and building of confidence between the banks of the Nistru. Poland also made multiple donations, including for containing the pandemic, stated Alexandru Solcan.
For his part, Bartłomiej Zdaniuk said he often wonders who the experts in political sciences are and if they are people of science or not. The politicians are people of science and their particularities can be defined by particular features. One of them is that the expert in political sciences analyzes aspects of the public power and offers detailed depictions, centering on legal, historical, social, economic, cultural, international factors.
As to the merits attributed to him, the diplomat said this is what Poland, not the ambassador does for the Republic of Moldova to faster take one more step towards the future. “I think the results expressed in free, democratic elections by a pluralistic society confirmed that the people in the Republic of Moldova have a clear wish. The people want to live in dignity, want to live nicely and let’s all lend a hand to achieve this,” stated Bartłomiej Zdaniuk
