Ambassador and ministry official welcome dynamics of Moldovan-Italian relations

Moldova and Italy are disposed to strengthen the existing partnership, in particular as regards the justice sector reform. The two countries are ready to continue the cooperation in the field of home affairs so as to ensure cybersecurity and to develop the possibilities of extending the commercial-economic cooperation, including of attracting Italian investment to the Republic of Moldova, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration noted in a press release issued after a discussion of secretary of state Gheorghe Leucă and Italy’s Ambassador in Chisinau Lorenzo Tomassoni, IPN reports.

The discussions covered also other subjects of common interest regarding the Moldovan-Italian cooperation within international organizations and included an exchange of opinions on subjects from the bilateral agenda, concerning the political, economic and sectorial spheres. The officials welcomed the positive dynamics of the Moldovan-Italian relations, including in the context of the recent visits paid by high-ranking Moldovan officials to Rome.

The interlocutors also conferred on cooperation and mutual support for the initiatives of the two states on multilateral platforms, including the reciprocal assistance in elections within international organizations, simultaneously exchanging opinions on the possibilities of extending cooperation in the European integration area.
