Alumni of US Exchange Programs will give Christmas gifts to children

Graduates of the US Embassy Exchange Programs will offer Christmas presents to children of an orphanage in Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the organizers, the money will be raised from selling tickets for the charity performance “Bring Christmas Joy to Children”, on the occasion of the St. Nicolas Day. They are to be transferred to the Orphanage for disabled children in Corten village, Taraclia raion. The performance is a continuation of similar actions unfolded in December 2005 in Balti, Chisinau and Cahul. It was the result of the joint effort made by the graduates of the exchange programs sponsored by the Governments of USA and Moldova. Geta Burlacu, accompanied by “Right Horns” band, will be the concert’s protagonist as one year ago. The performer will present a special jazz program, “Endangered Species”. Tickets cost 30 lei and are available at the box offices of the National Philharmonics or can be booked calling on 21-04-21. All the tickets will participate in a lottery. The charity concert “Bring Christmas Joy to Children” will be held on Thursday December 14, at 6.00 pm, at the National Philharmonics. For details call 210 421 or 069-151147.
