The municipality has connected almost half of kindergartens in Chisinau to the hot water network. The process of reconnecting the kindergartens started in early 2007. Fifty-nine kindergartens are supplied with hot water at present, while another 23 are about to be supplied. Head of Education, Science, Youth and Sports Division Tatiana Nagnibeda told the City Hall session, held on Monday, March 12, that another 11 kindergartens will be connected this week. As she says, the works are being performed according to the established timetable, so it is very likely that all the kindergartens will have hot water by May. According to local authorities, the expenses related to the reestablishment of the hot water networks in kindergartens will be covered by the municipal budget. The sum in this respect will amount to about 18 mln lei. The gradual reconnection of the kindergartens has been agreed upon together with “Termocom” JSC (thermal supplier), depending on the technical condition of the water networks. The administrator of “Termocom” JSC said earlier that the enterprise will perform the necessary works, after that he will forward to the municipal Council with the bill for the rendered services. 150 kindergartens in all are operating in Chisinau. These kindergartens have not been supplied with hot water for over ten years. The cessation of hot water supply caused the deterioration of the water networks. Essential financial resources are now necessary to re-establish them. The reconnection of kindergartens to the centralised hot water supply network is part of the municipality’s plan designed to reconnect all the consumers to the hot water networks.
