In almost all schools in Chisinau, back-to-school festivities will be held on September 2, with only four institutions opting for September 1. The theme of this year’s festivities is “Together for Peace”.

“Of all the educational institutions, only four will have the celebration on September 1, that is, Sunday. This includes a private lyceum, two secondary schools in the suburbs, and another lyceum in the city. Otherwise, all institutions will celebrate on September 2, starting at 8:30 a.m., with a duration of 45 minutes”, said Andrei Pavaloi, deputy head of Education, at the meeting of the municipal services on Monday.

Pavaloi called on the principals and also the parents to respect sanitary rules amid a rise in Covid cases.

Pavaloi added that during August 20-22, educational institutions were audited by the municipality and declared ready for the 2024-2025 academic year.
