Approximately 400 explosives were discovered and neutralized by bomb disposal technicians of the National Army in Moldova last year. The largest quantity of munitions - 66 bomb launchers with the caliber of 120 mm – were found last November on arable land in Mingir village of Hâncești district, IPN reports.
According to the head of the Bomb Disposal Service, Lieutenant-Colonel Adrian Efros, the bomb disposal technicians of the National Army performed over 170 operations and demined 392 munitions. Most of the explosives, such as bomb launchers, artillery shells of a different caliber, plane bombs and hand grenades, were discovered in villages of Anenii Noi, Căuşeni, Criuleni and Hânceşti dustcrits and in the municipality of Balti and Chisinau .
A number of 33 explosives were found and demined in July in a forest near Delacău village of Anenii Noi district. In April, 24 explosives – artillery shells with the caliber of 45 mm with cartridges, anti-tank mines and hand grenades RGD-33, were disposed of near Plop-Ştiubei village of Căuşeni district.
If unidentified explosives are discovered, the authorities should be informed immediately. It is banned touching, hitting or moving the munitions found in the soil or on the surface and removing their fuses or other component.
