Almost 12,000 ballots declared invalid
As many as 11,941 ballots have been declared invalid, the Central Election Commission (CEC) has said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
According to the Commission, 19,433 ballots were declared invalid after the April 2, 2009 elections, as against 10,240 ballots after the July 29, 2009 elections.
“The Constitutional Court validated the results of both of the elections held in 2009 and the invalid ballots did not affect the election outcome,” the CEC says in a communiqué.
The Commission reiterates that it is ready to examine all the claims concerning violations committed in the November 28 elections and will not respond to provocations.
