The period for providing the annual allowance for young specialists working in the educational sector is extended from three to five years. As a result, the size of the allowance intended for university graduates is raised from 120,000 to 200,000, while of the allowance intended for graduates of post-secondary vocational education institutions - from 96,000 lei to 160,000 lei, IPN reports.
Details about the amendments proposed to the Education Code were presented in a news conference by Minister of Education and Research Anatolie Topală. “The period during which young specialists who graduated from public general education institutions benefit from support for professional insertion, including from the 75% reduction in the teaching norm for a statutory salary and from audience from the mentor teacher, is also extended from three to five years,” stated the minister.
Also, the teaching staff working in educational institutions in villages and district centers, including from territorial-administrative units that form part of ATU Gagauzia, during five years of the start of the career will have the costs for housing rent, heat and electricity covered with state budget funds, as the Government decided.
“These measures are aimed at motivating the young specialists to build a career in the educational sector and to contribute to improving the quality of human resources in education,” noted Anatolie Topală.
The amendments to the Education Code are to be debated and adopted by Parliament.
