As of January 1, 2019, the local houses of social insurance set social welfare for employees with a special or military status of the Ministry of the Interior, Ministry of Defense, National Administration of Penitentiaries, State Guard and Protection Service, Security and Intelligence Service and National Anticorruption Center, IPN reports.
According to the National House of Social Insurance, the given allowances comprise the maternity allowance, including that for the wife maintained by the insured employee of the police force, paternity allowance and death benefit, allowance intended for families with children, such as the one-time child birth allowance, monthly allowance for looking after the child up to the age of three and monthly support allowance for raising twins or more children born at the same time up to the age of three.
Under the legislation, the allowances set before January 1 this year will continue to be paid from the state budget at the workplace of service members who do the service on a contract basis, of persons from the command body and bodies of the internal affairs and penitentiary system, of protection officers and employees of the state security bodies and the National Anticorruption Center.
The applicants can also use the electronic service “e-Application. Allowances for Families with Children” that is available on the common governmental portal of public services (www.servicii.gov.md) or on the website of the National House of Social Insurance for submitting an electronic application from home to get a paternity allowance, one-time child birth allowance, monthly allowance for looking after the child up to the age of three and monthly allowance for looking after the child up to the age of two.
The data of the National House of Social Insurance show families with children in 2018 submitted 6,917 applications to get allowances intended for families with children and paternal allowances through the electronic service “e-Application. Allowances for Families with Children”.
