The monthly allowance for temporary incapacity for work was increased by 100 lei. For the purpose, Parliament adopted amendments to the Law on Allowances for Temporary Incapacity for Work, IPN reports.
The allowance is paid to parents with children younger than three and must not be lower than 540 lei. Bill author Valentina Stratan said the amendments are designed to bring the given law in concordance with the 2016 State Social Insurance Budget Law.
The head of the parliamentary commission on social protection, health and family Oxana Domenti said the money for increasing the allowance was identified when the State Social Insurance Budget Law was approved.
The provisions are to be implemented from August 1, this year.
