Allocations of 6 million lei for children
The Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family this year has allocated 6 million lei in financial assistance on the International Children’s Day. The money will be distributed to socially deprived families, orphans from family-type children’s homes and professional parent assistance services, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The money will be distributed through the local social support funds whose administration councils will choose the categories of beneficiaries and decide the size of the allowance. The relevant public commissions working under the mayor’s offices will select the beneficiaries from among non-institutionalized orphans, children with disabilities and large and one-parent families.
In the municipality of Chisinau, lump sums totaling about 300,000 lei will be given to orphans who finished the ninth, eleventh and twelfth grades from the local budget.
On the occasion of the International Children’s Day, the Government, with the involvement of the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family, in partnership with the national public broadcaster Teleradio-Moldova will organize a telemarathon titled “I want to have a family. Family for children, we for the family!”. There will be collected money and objects that will be distributed to seven family-type children’s homes and seven families of professional parent assistants.
The same day, there will be held the second international specialized exhibition of goods and services for children and teens “Kid's Expo”. It can be visited at Moldexp from May 31 until June 3.
The sum allocated on the International Children’s Day last year was by 400,000 lei lower than this year. The money was shared out to 26,000 socially underprivileged families with children.
