Alliance treated with suspicion in Transnistria

The reanimated Alliance for European Integration will not be able to essentially change the situation both in Moldova and in the relationship with Tiraspol, thinks Grigori Valavoi, the director of the Bender-based publication Novaya Gazeta. The fate of this coalition largely depends on its capacity to push its presidential candidate through Parliament. If this doesn't happen, Moldova will once again run into in the same deadlock, Grigori Valavoi told Info-Prim Neo. “In my opinion the odds that a president will be elected are very low, and so are the odds for the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict. The Tiraspol leadership will be building its policy depending on the political developments in Chisinau”, said the journalist. In Grigori Valavoi's opinion, Igor Smirnov will direct all the negotiation processes so as to gain the most favorable position for him.
