Alliance holds meeting, makes no decision

The leaders of the three component parties of the Alliance for European Integration held a meeting on Wednesday evening. This was confirmed to reporters by PD president Marian Lupu and PL president Mihai Ghimpu, who said that the meeting, which was held behind closed doors, produced no major decisions, Info-Prim Neo reports. Marian Lupu told reporters that the meeting addressed “a number of issues” previously featuring on the Alliance's agenda, without being specific. Talking about discussions on the Budget Bill, Marian Lupu reiterated his position that the Bill should have been discussed first within the Alliance before being submitted to the Government and Parliament. Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu stated for his part that the event on Wednesday evening wasn't even worth to be called a sitting of the Alliance's Board, since no decision was made. He went on to add that it didn't even have an order of the day as it used to have. Ghimpu also abstained from revealing details about the content of the discussions, saying he would comment on it later.
