Alliance accused of dictatorship in developing Budget Bill

The Communist and Socialist MPs are accusing the ruling Eurointegration Alliance of developing the 2013 Budget Bill in a “dictatorial way”. At Wednesday's meeting of the parliamentary Commission on Economy, Communist MP Oleg Reidman suggested a task-force should be created to thoroughly analyze the bill, dedicating 3 or 4 days to each chapter. Socialist leader Igor Dodon endorsed the proposal. However the Communists' and Socialists' votes were not enough for the proposal to pass. The Communists and Socialists in particular complained that the figures provided in the Budget Bill were unrealistic. “We should guess that you will, again, make last minute amendments at the last sitting in Parliament”, said Communist MP Zinaida Chistruga. The Socialist members of the Commission cited a letter which Economy Minister reportedly addressed to Parliament, warning that the figures contained in the Budget Bill should be modified. The Commission's chair, Liberal-Democrat Veaceslav Ionita, said a minister cannot write letters to the legislative body bypassing the Cabinet. Eventually the Bill was endorsed by the Commission with the vote of the Alliance members.
