An alley with 11 bronze busts of Moldovan rulers who governed in the period between the medieval times until the start of the 19th century will be opened in the central square of Cricova on May 22, when the town celebrates its day. Mayor of Cricova Valentin Gutan has told IPN that the inauguration will involve Romania’s Ambassador to Moldova Marius Lazurca, while a group of priests, headed by the Metropolitan Bishop Vladimir, will hold a blessing service.
Valentin Gutan said the event will also be attended by the heads of five county councils of Romania, which donated six of the 11 busts. The other five busts were made with money from the budget of Cricova town and cost about 1 million lei. The same day, the town will be visited by delegates from a number of Ukrainian and Romanian settlements, with which Cricova signed twinning agreements.
At 1pm, the most talented children of Cricova will give a concert in the center of the town. At 7pm, national pop music singers will give a performance. The celebrations will end with a display of fireworks.
