Alleged members of criminal group led by “Boseac” arrested

Four men aged between 28 and 32 from northern Moldova are suspected of robbery and blackmail. The deputy head of the General Police Inspectorate Gheorghe Cavcaliuc told a news conference that the men are members of a criminal group headed by an individual who is known in the criminal world as “Boseac”. This was earlier convicted in Russia of similar offenses three times, IPN reports.

Gheorghe Cavcaliuc stated that at the beginning of April, the individuals entered the premises of a company in Plop village of Donduseni district, where they beat the guard with wooden cudgels. They threatened him with a knife, tied his hands and broke into the accountant’s office from where they stole three guns, US$3,700 and about 4,000 lei from the safe.

The investigation officers collected evidence showing that the members of the group were also involved in a crime committed in Soroca district last November. These entered the house of a person in Bulboci village, took out by force a young man and took him by a car to a health resort in Soroca town. There, together with another two persons, they kicked and beat him with an iron bar and demanded that he should repay a supposed debt of 15,000 lei within a definite period of time.

Three suspects were placed under house arrest for 30 days. The fourth was more cooperative with the investigation bodies and will be investigated outside prison.
