All students will pass to next grade

All the students will be allowed to pass to the next grade based on the results achieved in the first and second semesters, with at least two grades, including during distance learning. No quarterly exams will be taken, Minister of Education, Culture and Research Igor Sharov announced in a press briefing on May 4, IPN reports.

According to the minister, all the education institutions will work out and approve a timetable for transcribing and filling out the class book (register) based on the provisional notes. Absences will be indicated only for cases of disease, while the absences of students during distance learning will not be regarded as a reason for not allowing the student to pass to the next grade.

As regards the fulfillment of curriculum requirements, Igor Sharov said that when the education process is resumed, each school discipline and each class will be analyzed to see to what extent the curriculum was met in March-May 2020 and a period for updating and improving the content learned the previous grade will be allotted.
