Road workers are spreading antiskid material on all the national roads. As many as 312 vehicles have been involved in the works, head of the operative service of the State Road Administration Sergiu Capatana said, quoted by IPN.
Last night, road workers intervened in two settlements in southern Moldova, where the wind blew together piles of snow on the roadway. The roads there are now travelable.
The movement of the snowplows can be followed through the 40 surveillance cameras placed all over the country and through GPS systems. The information is sent to the monitoring center of the State Road Administration in real time. Thus, they can determine the cleaned road section, travel speed and work period of the vehicles.
Sergiu Capatana added that the local authorities have supplies of about 53,000 tonnes of antiskid material. This quantity is sufficient for the cold period.
