All the parties running in the April 5 legislative elections infringed the Election Code, said Renata Verejanu, the president of the European Academy of the Civil Society, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. At a news conference on March 9, she said that a lot of election contenders do not say where they work and thus lie when they declare their incomes. Renata Verejanu stated that the NGO network that includes the European Academy of the Civil Society, the First Club of the Council of Europe and the Young Journalists Agency “AMP International” identified a number of serious violations. She said that the ruling party and the Opposition parties use administrative methods, the people are deprived of useful information and are often misinformed. The election campaign is full of conflicts between the election runners or between the contenders and other institutions, Verejanu said. On Monday, March 9, the NGO network offered prizes on the occasion of 60 years of the foundation of the Council of Europe.
