President of Moldova Vladimir Voronin told a news conference that all the cases lost by Moldova at the European Court of Human Rights were generated before the communists came to power. On the other hand, the statistics presented by the ECHR show that most of files which constituted ground for fining Moldova were submitted starting 2001 until present days. “If we analyse those 80 cases (lost by Moldova), they are all, all of them generated not by us, but before 2001”, the head of state underlined. The data from the Court show that Moldova was penalised in 67 cases, on the basis of which 70 judgements were issued. Four of them were registered in 2001, 26 in 2002, 18 in 2003, two in 2004 and seven in 2005. Thus, 57 out of 67 cases lost by Moldova, or 85%, were registered by ECHR after the communists came to power.
