All applications for ECHR judge position submitted

All 9 applications for Moldova’s judge position at the European Court of Human Rights have been accepted by the Committee for candidate selection, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a press release of the Ministry of Justice, the final list included the applications submitted by the following: lawyer Valeriu Gritco, director of the Legal Resource Center Vladislav Gribincea, lawyers Vitalie Nagacevschi and Ilie Rotaru, Deputy Ministry of Justice Vladimir Grosu, lawyer Eduard Serbenco, director of the Center for Analysis and Prevention of Corruption Galina Bostan, assistant judge of the Constitutional Court Veaceslav Zaporojan and superior lecturer Mihai Buruiana. The next meeting of the Committee for the selection of candidates for Moldova’s judge position at the European Court of Human Rights will take place on July 16. On the same day will take place the first round of the contest with the written test and the interview. Moldova’s judge position at ECHR has been vacant since February, when the former ECHR judge Mihai Poalelungi left his position, in order to become Head of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Republic of Moldova. The salary of an ECHR judge is about €18,000 per month.
